Did you know that playing kickball can burn 300-600 calories an hour? This physical co-ed activity can be played by anyone, no sports knowledge required. It can be played with little equipment and rules can be adjusted and made up by each group of kids which makes for a very creative activity. Kickball is a very social activity as just about any number of kids and all ages can play together. Other benefits are improved agility and a cardio workout. But the biggest benefit… it is FUN!!
I got the biggest “kick” when I went out to see what the boys were doing yesterday and one of my boys had just been swimming and put on one shoe to play! Who needs two shoes for kickball in the front yard? Which reminds me that running around in the grass barefoot is also great sensory experience.
